Summer Camp for Youth

Mission

CYO Camp fosters the growth and development of youth through the formation of positive relationships with self, others, nature, and God.

Why Choose CYO Camp?

CYO Camp is located 60 miles north of San Francisco on 216 acres of coastal redwood groves near the historic town of Occidental, California. This awe-inspiring location gives campers the opportunity for a positive, meaningful and challenging summer adventure amongst the towering Sonoma redwoods. CYO Camp holds fast to the values and traditions that have made it an exciting and educational place for tens of thousands of Bay Area youth since 1946. Programs are designed to give each camper an opportunity to discover new adventures and take on new challenges as they progress from year to year. CYO Camp is a Catholic community where children of all religious backgrounds will feel comfortable participating in our youth-centered celebrations—including our 2008 value-based themes of community, stewardship and friendship, and the new activities that augment the program and legacy of CYO Camp.

Campers will…

  • develop positive values
  • explore their spirituality in a Catholic community that is inclusive of all religious traditions and backgrounds
  • learn to express themselves in healthy and positive ways
  • expand their environmental and global awareness
  • cultivate a sense of adventure and exploration in a safe and natural setting
  • practice their social skills and build formative, lasting relationships
  • carry home a sense of belonging to a diverse community of peers
